| 2008 was a year
of growth for our farm. The vegetable CSA more than doubled serving 41
individuals and families. Accordingly, the tilled ground needed for
garden space was more than doubled as well. In contrast to 2007 the
tomato and pepper harvest was abundant but the potato crop failed. We
used the high tunnel hoop house for the first time during the spring CSA
season. Several structures were built or rebuilt to support our growth.
A produce processing and pick up area was put under cover, a carport
erected to shelter vehicles, the little hoop house was rebuilt and a new
portable shelter that houses 200 laying hens on pasture was
completed.
