 2010 Tuesday 2010 Saturday 2009 Tuesday 2009 Saturday

You are invited to join our 2010 Mitchell Family Farm CSA. We offer a limited number of regular and working shares. CSA is geared toward individuals who want to support and enjoy the benefits of healthy, locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables.

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA farms are springing up all across the country. Each one is unique to the the local community and the farmer they are supporting. The things all CSAs have in common are a farmer and a group of individuals who support that farmer as a way of supporting local agriculture. The farmer raises a crop and shares the produce with the community members who have supported him or her.

Farming Naturally

Mitchell Family Farm is not certified organic, but we do strive to raise our produce and animals in a way that is environmentally responsible. We want to be good stewards of the land and animals God has put in our care. Along those lines we choose to not harm the soil with chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. Instead we choose to use crop rotation, companion planting, cover cropping, and composting along with other natural means to promote healthy plant growth.

Trade Basket

You will receive a variety of produce. We anticipate that you will enjoy most, if not all of it but if there is something in your share that you won't use, we will have a trade box available. Members may exchange items in their share for items in the trade box.

Community Delivery Groups

If you would like to be on the community group pick-up and delivery list we will attempt to put you in contact with a group of individuals in your area who are willing to share the responsibilities of picking up shares at the farm and delivering them to your community.  If enough people are interested in cooperating this way, you won't have to make as many trips to the farm, you'll save fuel, and still receive great produce!

Farm-Fresh Brown Eggs

Eggs are available on a first-come, first-served basis from our flock of pastured hens.  Request eggs when you pick up your share.
